Our simple but sophisticated menu features creative seasonal food with fresh ingredients prepared with rustic Italian and French influences. We are renowned for our Sunday Lunches which have been voted by Observer Food Monthly readers as finalists for the Best Sunday Lunch.
The menu changes regularly and features light dishes such as Crab Taco with mango salsa and hand rolled pasta with clams, to Swaledale Lamb Rump and Old Spot Pork Loin. Ingredients are carefully sourced including rare-breed meat, Cornish Native Lobsters and local game.
We cook steaks and finish off our whole ribs of beef for Sunday Lunch in a Josper Oven that works like an indoor barbecue to give the meat a fantastic flavour while keeping it moist and tender. We also use the Josper Oven for whole fish, squid, scallops and mussels in their shells to enhance the flavour.
On Thursdays and Fridays we serve Adnams beer battered fish & chips to eat in and take away.
We booked a table for around 15 people to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday recently which was held in the dining room. Everything from the service, atmosphere and food was perfect. Its in a beautiful setting with a great terrace and garden. Would highly recommend.
The food is great and beautifully presented. Great with kids, good selection of drinks and great variety on the menu. Highly recommend and a great dining experience.
We use a Josper Charcoal Oven
All our steaks are cooked on the Josper oven, along with whole fish, squid, scallops in their shell and mussels. Our whole ribs of beef for Sunday lunch are also finished in the oven.
The oven keeps fish really juicy – it cooks fish rapidly with great flavour & keeps flesh moist as well as enhancing the flavour of our steaks from the sweetness of the charcoal.
