It feels like the start of a new term here after some much needed time off over August. Our children are back at school and we’re back to a more usual routine. We’ve launched our new autumn menu full of delicious seasonal dishes from Southern Indian style prawn & monkfish curry & pilaf rice to one of our most popular dishes Black pudding from Normandy, fried egg & mushrooms.
While schools and some offices are open for the first time in six months, we know that many of you are still working at home. If you’re fed up of being stuck at home and need a change of scene to rejuvenate you, why not bring your laptop and phone and grab a quiet corner at The Fox & Hounds. It’s perfect for avoiding the distractions of working at home! We’re open from 9am serving good tea and coffee and delicious fresh croissants and pastries from the Dolce Forno bakery. If you want to make a day of it we serve lunch from midday. We have good wifi and you’re welcome to use our light and spacious dining room which is also great for small business meetings over coffee of lunch for up to six people.
If you’re back to doing the school run every morning and afternoon, why not call in with your friends for coffee, a pastry and a socially-distanced child-free catch up. And if you fancy a little bit of a browse, The Fox Shop is open packed with essentials, treats and gifts from local producers and some of our favourite suppliers or cooked here by James and the team.
You’ll find fresh flowers and unique gifts and homeware; Brindisa Deli items such as their delicious Black Truffle crisps & Oritz sardines and Creamy mozarella and burrata from The Chefs Deli; local ice cream from Dawlicous and steak, seafood and more. You can pick up our Fox Treats sausage rolls, shortbread, quiche, focaccia bread, brownies and other deserts as well as collecting our finish-at-home meals (please pre-order).
We are currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays to give us some time for the extra cleaning and admin that goes with the current situation.
We look forward to welcoming you back to The Fox & Hounds this autumn.
