His simple, sophisticated dishes are a mixture of English, French and rustic Italian influences. Whatever your budget,taste or occasion James will be happy to discuss menus and options.

The beautiful chandeliered dining room can seat up to 45 for a sit down meal or alternatively the whole venue can be hired and we can cater for up to 100 guests with a fabulous buffet.
We pride ourselves on being able to tailor your function to your own needs and requirements. Whether it be with champagne and canapés in our pretty garden, a more formal sit down meal in the stylish dining room, a fabulous buffet or use of the shellfish bar - we are here to ensure that your special occasion will be one to remember.
We do not charge for hire of the dining room, however we do generally require a minimum spend of £500 for private use of the room (or a minimum of 15 people).

James started cooking at 15, working in the restaurant in his local village and had work experience at Waterside Inn in Bray and La Tante Claire with Pierre Koffmann.
In 1994, he started a job at the Greenhouse with Michelin Star rated Gary Rhodes. After 18 months there, he visited America for a year, where he worked at Lake Placid Lodge, one of the Michelin Star rated Roux brothers' consultancies, where the head chef was Rob Aikens.
Following a brief spell at the Oxo Tower in London, he was offered a junior sous chef position at Alastair Little's Frith Street restaurant in Soho, where he worked for four years working his way to head chef. In 2000, he moved to Tom Conran's Notting Hill pub, the Cow, where he stayed as head chef for a further four years.
In October 2004, he and his wife, Bianca, opened the Fox and Hounds in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire.
